WearCast ("we," "us," "our") operates the WearCast app (the "Service"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information — your email address and password (encrypted) when you create an account.
- Wardrobe content — photos of clothing items you upload, along with names, categories, brands, colors, warmth levels, and occasion tags you or our AI assign to them.
- Location and weather data — with your permission, we use your device's location (or an approximate location from your IP address if permission is declined) to fetch local weather and recommend weather-appropriate outfits.
- Usage data — which outfits you generate, mark as worn, or share, and how many AI-powered features you use each month, to enforce your plan's limits.
- Push notification data — if you enable notifications, we store a device subscription token and your approximate location to deliver a daily outfit reminder.
- Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy) collects your payment details directly; we never see or store your full card number.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To generate AI-powered outfit recommendations and automatically tag clothing photos.
- To provide weather-appropriate suggestions based on your location.
- To send optional daily reminder notifications.
- To manage your subscription and enforce usage limits for your plan.
- To provide customer support and improve the Service.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with service providers acting on our behalf:
- Google (Gemini API) — clothing photos and wardrobe details are sent to Google's Gemini AI to generate outfit suggestions and auto-tag items.
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles account authentication.
- Vercel — hosts the application and its backend functions.
- Lemon Squeezy — processes subscription payments.
- Resend — sends account-related emails (such as sign-up confirmation).
- Open-Meteo / wttr.in — receive an approximate latitude/longitude to return current weather conditions; no other personal data is shared with these services.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and wardrobe data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we're required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes (e.g., payment records).
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@wearcastofficial.com.
6. Children's Privacy
WearCast is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, access controls, row-level security on our database) to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. International Users
WearCast is operated from the United Arab Emirates. If you use the Service from outside the UAE, your information will be transferred to and processed in the UAE and other countries where our service providers operate.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the effective date above when we do.
